ABOUT ROSIRIUS
Steve and I live in Northamptonshire, UK, and have owned Cavaliers since 1981. We only have a small number of Cavaliers living with us in our home; the Cavaliers are our pet companions first and foremost. My Kennel Club Affix is made up from a combination of my first name and the dog star, Sirius.
I thoroughly enjoy the show scene, and breed the occasional litter. All breeding stock is health checked. Puppies are veterinary litter screened. I had always wanted to own a dog, but when I saw Ch. Alansmere Aquarius win BIS at Crufts in 1973, I knew exactly which breed it had to be. Our first Cavalier was Max (Melzabe Birthday Surprise). He was joined a couple of years later by Benson (Midnight Magic Touch), a black & tan of Rhybank breeding. In 1988 Lori, Blenheim, (Christerose I Am What I Am at Rosirius) came to join us. She was an Alansmere Country Boy granddaughter, and gave us 13 ½ years of absolute joy.
Early in 1990 Laura (Colneka Crimson Glory of Rosirius), a beautiful Ch. Knight Magic at Harana ruby daughter, joined the family. Laura just loved showing and I revelled in sharing her good fortune in the show ring, especially her wins at Crufts!
Late in 1995 Mica (Black Chiffon of Rosirius), a black and tan, bred by my friend Peggy Garner (Mialeah) joined us. She was successful in the show ring and had two litters both by Geronsart Tarmac of Amauri, one producing Rosirius Prudence.
In August 2000, homebred Rosirius Prudence produced a beautiful litter of seven puppies, including Rosirius Serge and Rosirius Jute who were consistent championship show winners, qualifying for Crufts.
September 2003 saw Rosirius Jute’s first litter (with Champion Myhope Fever). From this litter came our ruby dog, Rosirius Razzle Dazzle, who won 1st in Minor Puppy Dog at his first championship show when he was just 6 months of age on the day of the show. He then followed in the paw prints of his Mother and Uncle in qualifying for the national Cavalier Club’s Puppy of the Year Competition, and Crufts.
Jute’s third and final litter in June 2007 was a ‘veteran’ affair producing our Blenheim, Mialeah Ericanna Rosirius (Erica), from this mating.
In August 2011, Erica produced a beautiful litter of 5 puppies with Ch. Timsar Mister Moonlighter – which included Rosirius Clover.
Rosirius Clover’s litter on 19th December 2016, sired by Ch Pascavale Nathan, was a rather unexpected litter of 8 puppies., including Rosirius Bluebell. Known as Bella, she has been a consistent winner at Championship Dog Shows, and has won a Reserve Challenge Certificate.
In March 2021, Rosirius Bluebell’s litter (Bella) together with Ch. Pascavale Haiden produced our dear boy Rosirius Sweet Basil. At 6 months old, he was placed 1st in Minor Puppy Dog class at his first Championship Show, The National Birmingham.
